The ten-minute rapid test is said to identify antibodies to Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a bacterium linked to various gastrointestinal conditions such as dyspepsia, peptic ulcers, and a substantial number of gastric cancer cases.

With the new approval, UAE residents can now perform the test at home.

According to the company, H. pylori impacts an estimated 41% of the UAE’s population, with certain demographics experiencing a higher incidence.

Without treatment, up to 20% of those infected could develop severe health issues. Infection involving the bacterium is notably associated with up to 80% of gastric cancer cases.
