St. Paul Minnesota-based Solventum — the 3M Health Care spinoff — said the attachments are designed to solve one of the biggest challenges with aligner treatment: creating durable, accurately shaped, stain-resistant attachments.
Solventum said the attachments could change aligner treatment by eliminating the technique-sensitive, time-consuming attachment creation process. This process can introduce variability into treatment. Misplaced and malformed attachments resulting from the conventional approach can produce different-than-predicted forces.
Conversely, Clarity precision grip attachments feature accurate positioning and precise shape to reduce this risk.
