The FDA cleared remote scanning and remote protocol adjustment features on the Philips Radiology Operations Command Center (ROCC). This means expert radiologists can now assist technologies on the spot by remotely controlling scans or adjusting protocols. They can now acquire high-quality images needed for improved diagnostic confidence and patient outcomes with remote influences.
ROCC, a multi-vendor, multi-modality, safe and secure imaging solution works with any vendor MR or CT configuration. It seamlessly connects imaging experts in a command center with technologists at scan locations across their organization.
Philips said a pilot study in London resulted in a 9% increase in total scanning throughput with ROCC. This came as a result of reduced scan times and a zero exam recall rate over the study period.
