Cook Medical launches IVF device in U.S.

Cook Medical announced that it launched its NestVT vitrification device for in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in the U.S.

Bloomington, Indiana-based Cook designed NestVT as a secure solution for embryos and oocytes during vitrification, cryo-storage and relocation. The company says the launch coincides with an effort to become a trusted IVF partner. It plans to offer simulation training and education to support the entire IVF process.

NestVT features a recessed, concave “nest” for embryos and oocytes. This minimizes disturbance to specimens during capping. It also has a triangular design to provide a stable base and improve device manipulations. The device’s recessed indentation on the cap creates a defined area for forceps, enabling a secure grip during use and capping.
