Johnson & Johnson wins FDA clearance for new robotic bronchoscopy software

Johnson & Johnson MedTech (NYSE: JNJ) today announced the launch of Monarch Quest 3, the latest software iteration for its Monarch robotically assisted bronchoscopy platform.

This update, which comes after FDA 510(k) clearance, is the fourth launch that the company has rolled out for the platform in 18 months.

The Monarch platform aims to provide clinicians with continuous visualization, precise, stable control and targeting assistance as they navigate to and biopsy targets within the lungs.

With its new enhancements, Monarch Quest 3 improves on registration and introduces a new 3D compass overlay, simplifying scope-tip orientation and giving clinicians more control and clarity as patient anatomy shifts, according to Johnson & Johnson MedTech.
