MiniMed picks up CE mark for MiniMed 780G pump with Instinct sensor made by Abbott

MiniMed (Nasdaq:MMED) announced that it received CE mark for the use of its MiniMed 780G with the Instinct sensor made by Abbott.

The 780G system offers meal detection technology and provides automatic adjustments and corrections to sugar levels every five minutes. This occurs for both basal (background) and bolus (mealtime) insulin needs. The algorithm auto-corrects glucose levels to provide support for missed boluses or underestimated carbohydrates.

When paired with 780G, Instinct provides real-time glucose readings, helping the pump automate its insulin adjustments and delivery. Abbott based the Instinct sensor on its most advanced FreeStyle Libre technology. Medtronic touts it as the world’s smallest, thinnest, most discreet sensor, with a wear time of up to 15 days. Alongside Dexcom’s G7 15 Day CGM, it’s the longest-lasting wearable CGM available.
