The company’s Neurapheresis system is being developed as a closed-loop platform that circulates CSF out of the body, without the need for adding replacement fluids.
Following a type of stroke known as an aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, the device aims to remove blood and blood-related protein debris that has leaked into the CSF before returning it to the patient, using a dual-lumen catheter threaded up into the spine through a lumbar puncture.
