Amsterdam-based Philips designed the coil specifically for pediatric patients and optimized and validated it for use with its MRI systems to offer enhanced comfort for children alongside enhanced, high-quality imaging.
Philips says it created the Snuggle coil to make MRI exams more comfortable and less intimidating for young patients. It features a light, blanket-like design and a soft, flexible structure, gently wrapping around the patient.
The coil features a high-density array and flexible design for sharp, high-resolution images. It also delivers more efficient exams across an array of pediatric anatomies. Philips said the advantages can reduce the need for additional imaging or follow-up procedures.
