Philips launches smart telemetry platform for cardiac monitoring

Philips (NYSE: PHG)+ today announced the introduction of a new telemetry platform aiming to address critical challenges in healthcare.

The Dutch medtech giant hopes for the platform to address staff shortages and alarm management in healthcare. This platform includes the next-generation Telemetry Monitor 5500, offering a data-driven approach for cardiac monitoring.

Philips said it developed the telemetry system to streamline alarm management, deliver data-driven insights and automate clinical tasks with operational simplicity and networking options. It integrates with the company’s central monitoring unit (CMU) solution.
