China-based Surgerii Robotics wins CE mark for single-port surgical robot

Surgerii Robotics announced on LinkedIn today that its Shurui single-port surgical robot garnered CE mark approval in Europe.

According to the company’s post, it marks the second-ever single-port robot approval in Europe. Surgical robotics leader Intuitive received CE mark for its da Vinci SP single-port robot in 2024. The company also says the system became the first single-port robot approved in Europe for pediatric surgery.

Beijing, China-based Surgerii says Shurui already has more than 2,000 successful surgeries under its belt. The company has collaborations with more than 70 hospitals in China and nearly 10 in Europe to date. It also partnered with IRCAD to establish a European Clinical Excellence Center to drive training, innovation and single-port demonstrations.

Surgerii touts the system’s “pioneering snake-like instruments” as potential game-changers in surgical robotics. It features multiple degrees of freedom, high-precision instruments, advanced motion-control algorithms and a surgeon-friendly interface.
