Most consumer stress tools on the market today, including wearables, estimate stress indirectly, inferring it from signals like heart rate variability. The Mira Cortisol Pattern™ Kit takes a different technical approach: it measures urinary free cortisol, a hormone involved in the body’s stress response, directly from a urine sample using the same lateral-flow testing format Mira already uses for hormone tracking.
Rather than a single snapshot test, the system is designed for repeated, longitudinal use, helping users understand their stress patterns over time, not just when they peak. With consistent testing, the Mira app builds a personal stress baseline in about a week, tailored by the individual user’s own data, and then shows how new results compare with that baseline over time.
