Q&A: Daye launches at-home hormone testing service across the UK

Daye has just launched a comprehensive at-home hormone testing service across the UK, and Med-Tech Insights spoke to Valentina Milanova, founder & CEO of Daye to find out more.

Daye’s hormone testing service is available in two versions. The Basic Hormone Panel measures eleven biomarkers, including key reproductive hormones such as Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinising Hormone (LH), Oestradiol, Prolactin, Total Testosterone, Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG), and the calculated Free Androgen Index, alongside thyroid hormones (TSH and Free Thyroxine) and two nutritional markers that are vital to hormonal health – Vitamin D and Ferritin – a marker of iron levels. The Advanced Fertility Panel includes all of these and adds Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH), a highly sensitive measure of ovarian reserve.

In the context of PCOS, this panel provides a complete hormonal picture in a single test. Many individuals with PCOS present with an elevated LH-to-FSH ratio, reflecting disrupted follicular development. Hyperandrogenism, evidenced by raised total testosterone or an elevated Free Androgen Index, is one of the core diagnostic criteria and underpins many of the hallmark symptoms, from acne to hirsutism. Oestradiol measurements help assess ovulatory function and luteal phase adequacy, while prolactin is checked to rule out hyperprolactinaemia, a separate condition that can also cause irregular cycles. Thyroid function is included because hypothyroidism can mimic or exacerbate PCOS symptoms. Vitamin D and ferritin levels are assessed because deficiencies in these nutrients are common in PCOS and have been linked to poorer reproductive, metabolic, and mood outcomes. Bringing all these parameters together in a single, high-quality sample reduces the need for fragmented and delayed testing across multiple appointments.
